Tata is building two semiconductor facilities—one fabrication plant in Gujarat and an assembly/testing plant in Assam—worth $14 billion, serving sectors like automotive, IoT, AI, defence, and aerospace. Under the ROHM deal, Tata Electronics will assemble and test India-designed automotive-grade Nch 100V, 300A Si MOSFETs in TOLL packages for mass production next year and explore high-value packaging technologies. This aligns with India’s Rs 76,000 crore semiconductor mission, boosting domestic chip manufacturing and global market supply.
