Sachindra Lal Singh was the first Chief Minister of Tripura after it attained full statehood. Born in 1907, he was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress and played an important role in Tripura’s political transition. When Tripura became a state on 21 January 1972, Sachindra Lal Singh assumed office as Chief Minister, guiding the new state through its early administrative phase. His leadership focused on establishing democratic governance, strengthening administration, and promoting development in a newly formed state. His contribution laid the foundation for Tripura’s political and institutional framework.
