Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, was a key figure in the nation’s freedom struggle and constitutional development. Born in Bihar in 1884, he rose from a brilliant lawyer to a respected national leader under Mahatma Gandhi’s influence during the Champaran Satyagraha. He played major roles in the Non-Cooperation and Quit India movements and served as Congress President multiple times. As President of the Constituent Assembly, he guided the framing of India’s Constitution with dignity and wisdom. Elected the first President in 1950, Prasad set high standards of humility, integrity, and constitutional values, becoming a symbol of India’s democratic foundation.
