IndiGo chairman Vikram Singh Mehta denied claims that the airline engineered last week’s operational crisis or tried to influence the government over revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules. He stated the board was actively engaged on the issue for months and will involve an external technical expert to identify root causes and corrective measures. Mehta attributed the disruptions to a combination of minor technical glitches, seasonal schedule changes, weather, congestion, and the phased implementation of FDTL rules. He emphasized that IndiGo complied with the rules, which ensure pilot rest and fatigue management, and apologized to affected passengers while stabilizing operations.
