| Updated On: 06-Dec-2025 @ 3:37 pmUnion Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has launched an inquiry into IndiGo’s flight cancellations, warning that those responsible will “pay for it.” The Centre’s committee will investigate the disruptions, identify lapses, and recommend action. The cancellations, primarily due to crew shortages triggered by the rollout of the new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, affected major airports across India, causing passenger chaos. Other airlines adapted smoothly. IndiGo, India’s largest domestic carrier, operated only 19.7% of flights on time on December 3. CEO Pieter Elbers apologized and promised full restoration of services by December 10–15, with fewer than 1,000 flights canceled on Saturday.
