Google Search adds ‘Dive deeper in AI Mode’ to AI Overviews

Google has begun testing a feature that merges AI Overviews with AI Mode, allowing users to ask follow-up questions or get more details with a single click. Robby Stein, VP of Google Search, stated on X that this integration provides a “new way to seamlessly go deeper in AI Mode” directly from mobile search results. Previously, users had to anticipate their questions or manually open the AI Mode tab to interact with the Gemini-powered chatbot. The merger aims to simplify user interaction, letting them ask anything without worrying about phrasing, while Google evaluates whether keeping the features separate or combining them is more effective.
